Got this lovely little number from my stepdad a week ago. It's the first rifle he ever purchased for himself in the 60's. It's a Sears model 43-103, 19811, aka a Marlin 81. Some mild wear and a few dings, but it's rust free and in remarkable condition for a 50+ year old. Also has a nice peep site.This is what I have found so far.The 81DL is the delux model, therefore the DL designation.The rifles were made from 1941 to 1964. This model had the peep sights and sling swivels.The Ballard rifling was used up until 1953 and after 1953 the Micro-groove was used. After 1957 the stock was a Bishop style.
