The TC Hawken is said to be the most finicky in ignition but I shot a whole lot of pyrodex in mine with various #11 caps and had no problems. Two years ago I and my SIL along with two grandsons shot a 25 shot aggregate match together. A flintlock will have the nipple seat and the so called "clean out screw" replaced by a breech plug with a touch hole liner. Eliminate the delay by keeping the flash channel clear of fouling.

The Hawkin is about 1.230. TC does sell a nice little adjustable peep sight, but it doesn't fold down and requires removal of that (IMO) ugly blob of a rear sight the gun comes with.
